THANK YOU ALL - what an amazing ride!
Thanks so much for all of your pledges and for sharing the project far and wide!
We will have loads of stuff to share with you over the coming days / weeks and we will put together a more detailed update about "what's next" very soon.

Hi backers,
Once again we want to say a huge thank you for the outpouring of support we received. The last week was absolutely amazing - we went from hitting none of the stretch goals to smashing through all of them within the last week.
Thanks for helping to spread the word all over the world. We couldn't have done it without you and we are very much looking forward to getting PiJuice out in the wild and seeing what you all create!
We just wanted to put together a short update to let you know what to expect next.
What next?
Kickstarter will have already tried to charge the card details that you entered when you made the pledge. For the vast majority of people this has been successful and you should soon see a charge on your card saying "KICKSTARTER PIJUICE" or similar.
At the moment there are 45 people whose cards have "errored" - this is usually due to an expired card or perhaps a mistake in the entered card details. These backers are sent email instructions to fix their pledge, and they receive periodic email reminders throughout the following week (every 48 hours). These backers can also log in to the Kickstarter account from which they pledged to follow a Fix Payment link.
If you are one of these backers whose card has errored, you have 7 days from the project's deadline (project end was Tuesday 31st March, so you have until tomorrow - Tuesday 7th April at 8pm UK time) to update your payment method. If you do not do so during that period, the collection attempts will stop and you will then become what is known as a "Dropped Backer" - meaning your payment will not be taken and you will not receive the items you pledged for.
If you are unsure whether your pledge has been successful (you should have received an email either way) it is a good idea to log into your account and check. Alternatively you can message us through Kickstarter and we can let you know either way.
If you want to receive the items you pledged for - make sure to fix your pledge before the deadline tomorrow. If you are not able to do so, let us know and we can sort out an alternative for you.
How do I provide my details - address, pledge items etc?
Due to the number of backers we have, we decided to use BackerKit instead of the standard Kickstarter survey option to manage surveys, addresses and pledge options (additional items pledged for etc).
We will be sending an email with a special link to the BackerKit surveys in the next couple of weeks. Filling in the BackerKit survey is important and will help the project tremendously - it will allow us to ensure the right items go to the right people, and will also allow us to ship your items quicker.
You do not need to make a login and password to fill out your survey, just fill it out and you’re all good to go!
In the BackerKit survey, please answer any questions we may have regarding your pledge, provide shipping information, pay for international shipping if you forgot, and if you want you can even order more items or “add-ons”. You do not have access to this link yet, but it will be available soon via email!
If you’ve decided later that you filled out something wrong in the survey, you can actually go back and change it anytime before we announce the cut off date for changes.
If you use your Facebook login for your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit invite will be sent to the email you used for your Facebook account. If you have another email you prefer it to be sent to, please email [email protected] or send us a message through Kickstarter.
Project updates
We have a lot to share with you over the coming weeks - we have already begun conversations about the design of the rugged waterproof case, the GUI and firmware and have an updated prototype design (including some of the stretch goal extras) which we are currently making samples of. We are excited to show you more in due course.
Until next time.... Aaron and the PiJuice team

Hi backers,
Sorry to send another update so soon after the last one, but we have a lot to share - we hope you don't mind :-)
Another BIG day for PiJuice as a lot of you may already have seen. The pledge levels have been soaring and the PiJuice rocketship has been gaining altitude at a dizzying rate - unlocking the £100k stretch goal!! As you will see from the graphic below :
£100k Stretch Goal Unlocked!
The word keeps spreading even further and today we have been featured in Geeky Gadgets again with the point and shoot camera project. There is also an article on the same subject which we must have missed last Friday on the Adafruit Piday blog. We have had some more international coverage from France via LaRuche and Poland via Malinowepi. For anyone that is interested in logo design and graphics our logo designer has also done a little write up about how he created the PiJuice logo.
We have been very busy behind the scenes tweaking and finalising the designs for PiJuice over the last month that the campaign has been running as well as working very hard to integrate it into a number of cool projects. After all, we have been saying PiJuice is "more than just a power supply" since the very beginning - so we wanted to show you some of the work we have been doing on that aspect of the project!
Instructables guides and Pi/e day contest
PiJuice Instructables Guides
Our resident projects guru, Nick, has been hard at work bringing to life a number of awesome projects which will shortly be turned into beautiful printed guides for you!
In just a couple of days our Instructables guides have gathered a total of over 46,000 views and lots of favourites - so they are obviously pretty popular! The weather station and games console have also been selected as featured guides by instructables. We will be adding more Instructables guides all the time, so why not head over there, sign up, and follow our page for updates.
Last but not least, we have entered the games console into the Pi/e Day contest on Instructables. We would be extremely grateful if you would be kind enough to vote for us to win. You just need to visit the games console Instructable and then click the orange "vote" button to the right of the title.
HDMIPi integration
HDMIPi with PiJuice
For those of you who are Kickstarter regulars, you will probably remember a Kickstarter campaign launched at the end of 2013 by RasPi.TV and Cyntech for an affordable Hi-Def HDMI screen for the Raspberry Pi - HDMIPi. We of course had one, and just before our campaign launched we were delighted to find out that they announced they were open sourcing the case design files.
We decided to take a bit of time to quickly knock up this little demo to show you just how useful the PiJuice can be when coupled with small screens to create a truly portable Raspberry Pi setup. After all, enabling "quick wins" like this was one of the main reasons we wanted to develop PiJuice in the first place!
We will release these modified files shortly so that anyone can make a new back plate for their HDMIPi to fit the PiJuice.
Final reminder - multiple device pledges
Do you want to pledge for more than one item, or a combination of different pledge levels? If so we have got you covered!
Just take a look at the instructions at the bottom of update number 4 for more information on how to achieve this.
SPREAD THE WORD!
Thanks for looking at our project and for your support in bringing it to life. Even bigger thanks if you have made a pledge to our project.
To hit the final stretch goal we need to keep the PiJuice soaring - so even if you can't support with a pledge, why not help us by spreading the word on Facebook, Twitter and any other social networks or blogs you use?
Stretch goals and multiple device pledge reminder!

Hi backers,
It has been another fantastic week for PiJuice and we can't thank you all enough for your support. We have had a huge amount of press coverage this last week leading up to the end of the campaign including a guest post that I wrote being featured on the Raspberry Pi blog.
Helen from the Raspberry Pi Foundation gave us a fantastic intro - "some Kickstarter campaigns just jump out at you. When I took a look at PiJuice it was obvious it was the real deal – they’ve only gone and sorted out portable power for the Raspberry Pi, with bells on." Eben Upton, one of the Raspberry Pi founders, also previously mentioned on Twitter that PiJuice is "transparently made of win" - and we feel honoured to hear such positive feedback directly from the RasPi Foundation.
These are all in part down to the huge amount of effort you guys have been putting in to spread the word - we really appreciate it, and we couldn't have got this far without you!
Stretch Goals
Because of all this support and press coverage we have had an ENORMOUS boost in pledges to our Kickstarter campaign. So without further ado, we are delighted to announce some more stretch goals:
PiJuice Stretch Goals!
UNLOCKED! £60,000 - Enhanced GUI - Truly useful Desktop GUI to help you customise and configure power profiles and more with your PiJuice.
UNLOCKED! £70,000 - Magic LED - to indicate what's important to you. Some thing new in your inbox indicated with a blink? The weather tomorrow shown as as shade of blue? CPU usage from a green to red pulse? The PiJuice Magic LED can be customised to show you what's important to you.
UNLOCKED! £80,000 - Extra project guides - We'll develop even more project guides based on our your suggestions and include these in the printed guides. Shipped with every pledge greater than the GET JUICY level. Check out the first drafts of some our guides on Instructables.
£90,000 - Rugged weatherproof case - We'll develop the ultimate case for all your outdoor projects. Whilst fitting the PiJuice perfectly this will also feature transparency for the camera, weather proof glands for connecting wires, and a modular design to grow with the size of your system!
£100,000 - Tech tweaks - We will add some additional functionality to the PiJuice including an intelligent and configurable external watchdog timer for added reliability, configurable I2C addressing for extra flexibility and more TBC.
£120,000 - Larger onboard battery - If we hit this stretch goal, instead of using an "off the shelf" 1400mAh Motorola battery, we will have the capacity to use a large on board battery. Who wouldn't want extra juice?
Spread the word!
As you will see from the graphic above, we have already dodged the asteroid, avoided an alien abduction, gone through the wormhole and soared past the £80,000 stretch goal!
We really want to keep this momentum going, and to hit any further stretch goals we need to keep the PiJuice soaring - so even if you can't support with a pledge, why not help us by spreading the word on Facebook, Twitter and any other social networks or blogs you use?
Or just use the project shortlink http://kck.st/17FPLc2 to share by any other method! Why not send it as a blog tip to your favourite blog? And you can also use #ProjectPiJuice to get our attention.
We have already mentioned how to pledge for multiple devices, but since we have a large number of extra backers on board since then we thought it made sense to send out a reminder!
A lot of you have been asking about how you can pledge for multiple quantities of devices or combinations of different pledge levels. The way you can do this is pretty simple - just add the additional quantity for the extra item you want (including the shipping cost) to your total pledge amount. We will then send out a survey at the end of the campaign asking you what the extra money was pledged for. For examples:
- If you want to add an additional PiJuice to your pledge, you just need to add £24 + extra shipping (UK - £3, rest of world - £5) to your pledge.
- If you want to add an additional PiJuice Solar to your pledge, you just need to add £60 + extra shipping (UK - £5, rest of world - £10) to your pledge.
- If you want to add any other pledge levels, just follow the same formula as above. There is no limit to how many you can add!
If you are having trouble working out how much your total pledge needs to be - just send us a message and we will be happy to help!
You guys are all awesome!
Many thanks, Aaron and the PiJuice team
