Shipping update...
about 8 years ago – Wed, Mar 28, 2018 at 12:15:41 AM

Hi all,

Just a quick one to let you know the current status of shipping of items.

PiJuice HATs

As we have mentioned, all the PiJuice HATs are shipping directly from Floship, with tracking numbers which you should be emailed by BackerKit once your item has shipped.

The first batch went out a few weeks ago and it seems like a good few people have received these now (although some are still yet to receive them so no need to panic).

The next batch of boards is scheduled to be finished this week by Embest / Farnell. We will ship these to Floship and then Floship will ship out to you backers. We hope to have tracking numbers for people in this second (and final) batch of PiJuice HATs by the end of next week. In any case, as soon as we receive the tracking numbers from Floship we will upload them to BackerKit and you should be notified.

Add ons

Today, we FINISHED shipping all the add ons (apart from maker kits and additional batteries). So any of you who haven't received your add ons (solar panels, pis, sd cards, cases etc) should expect to receive those in the next 4 to 6 weeks at the very latest.

Unfortunately we do not have tracking numbers for these shipments, but we have shipped them with Royal Mail priority shipping so they should not take too long to arrive.

To confirm: these will come separately to the HATs

Maker kits and additional batteries

As we covered in update 67 in December we now have a plan in place for production on the maker kits using our media center HAT board as the basis for the display. We have finalised production samples on these boards and are moving forward into manufacture. We are not sure yet exactly how long manufacture will take, we are waiting on an update from Embest / Farnell on this before we can say for sure. All of the rest of the items needed for this pledge level are nearly ready to go, including the cases from CamdenBoss. We should hopefully have a prototype of that case soon and will share the details with you. The Media Center HATs are likely to be the very last thing to ship to us, but hopefully it should not be too long. We will update once we have more info.

With regard to the additional batteries, we are still looking for a suitable supplier for the 10,000mAh and 5000mAh batteries. We are testing a few different suppliers and as soon as we have anything concrete we will reply back. We are focusing efforts on this now to get it resolved as soon as possible now the HAT shipping is nearly complete and should hopefully be in a position to get these shipped within the coming weeks. Again, we will post updates on these as we have them.

Non-kickstarter backers (pre-order backers)

Last but not least, we know that there are some people who read these updates that did not purchase a PiJuice / add ons through Kickstarter or BackerKit. For those of you in this position (about 200 of you) we will ship out your PiJuice boards in around the next 2 to 3 weeks. Basically, we have to ship those directly from the UK due to various quirks in our shipping software. So basically, we need to ship the units from Embest, to our warehouse in the UK and then ship those out to any pre-order backers.

We hope to have completed this in the next 2 to 3 weeks at the latest, and these will ship at the same time as any other items in your orders.

Thanks,
Aaron and the PiJuice team

Add ons etc
about 8 years ago – Fri, Mar 23, 2018 at 05:11:57 PM

Hi all,

Sorry to have to send this in an email, but despite covering it numerous times in the updates it seems some people have missed this.

The current shipment you will be getting where you have got a tracking number through BackerKit is just the PiJuice HAT itself.

Most of you will already have your add ons, but if you have not received them yet they are shipping directly from us and will come in a separate shipment.

Maker Kits and 10,000mAh batteries are not available yet and will not be shipping until later.

Please wait until after we have completed all shipping to complain that you have not received everything yet.

Thanks,
Aaron and the PiJuice team

Battery Label Sticker
about 8 years ago – Thu, Mar 22, 2018 at 03:49:19 PM

Hi all,

Just a quick one. We had our graphic designers knock up a little reference sticker / label that you can print out and stick to your PiJuice battery (or just use for reference purposes).

Battery Label
Battery Label

You need to print it at 43mm wide by 40mm tall for it to be the correct size. You can find more info about that here - https://github.com/PiSupply/PiJuice/tree/master/Hardware#battery-label-sticker

Screw terminals?
about 8 years ago – Thu, Mar 15, 2018 at 04:03:33 PM

Hi there,

We have had a couple of people notice that the screw terminals on the PiJuice are facing inwards, towards the battery.

This is not a mistake or a manufacturing error, it is actually intentional. The reason is, to make it harder for you to fry your board by attaching two batteries at once because it is physically more complicated to attach a battery to the screw terminals whilst the BP7X onboard battery is installed.

Having said that, if you would like to, you an turn the battery terminal the other way around by unscrewing all of the screws and then turning it around and screwing them all in again!

If you have any other questions about the hardware, most of them are probably already answered here - https://github.com/PiSupply/PiJuice/tree/master/Hardware

Pledges started arriving! And tracking troubleshooting
about 8 years ago – Thu, Mar 08, 2018 at 07:53:28 PM

Hi all,

Just a quick one this time!

Pledges started arriving

We are deligthed to announce that PiJuices have started arriving at their destinations! So keep your eyes on the tracking and watch out for the post(wo)man!

Parcels started arriving!

Tracking troubleshooting

We have had a large number of backers letting us know that their tracking is not working at the tracking link http://track.quantiumsolutions.com/

We aren't quite sure why this is not working, however you can use http://en.trackitonline.ru instead if you would like and this should work.

Thanks,
Aaron and the PiJuice team
