Survey lockdown in 2 days, new resellers, pre-orders / expressions of interest
over 8 years ago
– Sat, Dec 02, 2017 at 12:10:34 AM
Hi all,
It is now December - so we wanted to do a quick update to remind you about the address lockdown situation and some other info.
Address lockdown on backerkit
As we said in a previous update, we would begin the address lockdown on BackerKit on the 1st December.
On that note, you should all have received an email from BackerKit (check your spam!) saying that you now have 48 hours to update your address in BackerKit.
If you did not get the email but need to update / check your address you can do so from https://pijuice.backerkit.com
New Resellers
As mentioned before, we are constantly adding resellers of the cases / solar panels (and those resellers will ultimately stock the HATs as well). If there is a reseller you would like to see added closer to you, then please write us a comment here, and also please send them an email as well to request that they stock the products!
Pre-order PiJuice or express interest in more units
As we have got closer to fulfillment, we have had A LOT of people email us both on Kickstarter and off-Kickstarter asking us how they can get their hands on a PiJuice if they missed the Kickstarter or if they wanted more units....so we wanted to provide a bit more information on how that would work going forward.
As we have said before, we will not be selling PiJuice on our website, or shipping ANY units to resellers before we have shipped out all backer rewards to our Kickstarter backers, and even then the price will be much higher than it was on the Kickstarter.
However, since we have a limited amount of initial stock available after the Kickstarter rewards are shipped, and we want to make sure people can get hold of more if they need them, we highly recommend that you either pre-order (some of our resellers - Newark/Farnell/Allied/Arrow allow you to do this) or express interest by entering your email on the relevant product page so you can be notified by email when the reseller in question has stock available. You can find below a list of people who currently have them listed, and we will update you as we hear of more. We have indicated whether you can pre-order / register your interest / quote next to each one:

Hi all,
Further to our previous update, the PiJuice solar panels (6 watt, 12 watt, 22 watt, 40 watt) and the PiJuice cases (short and tall) are now also available to purchase from a selection of our retailers. More retailers will be coming on-line in due course but currently you can purchase from:
Once we have more resellers selling the products, we will let you know who they are :-)
Thanks, Aaron

Hi all,
Just another update for you with some more info on reviews, events we are attending, solar panels and cases:
Detailed review from Tim Richardson and Michael Horne
PiJuice HAT
The next review is in! We saw Michael Horne and Tim Richardson (the organisers of PiWars and CamJam, as well as heavily active community members) at the latest CamJam and handed them the PiJuice gear to review. They decided to do this as a joint review on Michael's "PiPod" blog. All in all, another pretty positive review - with some great feedback and potential improvements contained within - ultimately this is why we do these reviews
The PiJuice module is now winging its way over to Les Pounder - who many of you probably know as a prolific writer in the Linux and Raspberry Pi space for a number of magazines including Linux Voice, MagPi and more! We are excited to get his thoughts.
We have got a few more PiJuice samples now from Farnell / Embest so we will try and put another one or two into circulation for reviews to speed up the rate. More on that soon.
Solar Panels and case available for sale! Making it even easier to use your Pi Anywhere :-)
We are delighted to announce that the official PiJuice short and tall cases, and all sizes of solar panel (6, 12, 22 and 40 watt) are now available to purchase from our store. Use these to make the most of your PiJuice and our PiAnywhere technology! We have limited stock in this first batch, so if you are desparately needing a case or a larger solar panel (the one coming with the PiJuice Solar pledge level is the 6 watt) then please don't miss out! These are in stock and available for shipping immediately:
Sorry for the late notice - but if any of you will be at Covent Garden Raspberry Jam today (18th November 2017) we will also be there. You can find all the event details on EventBrite here. Literally putting the finishing touches on this update on the train on the way up :-)
We have got the PiJuice and all of the solar panels with us...so come say hi to Aaron or John if you are around? We would love to meet you there.
Aaron, John and Francesco will be attending and we will have with us the PiJuice, all the solar panels and the cases to show off. Again - if you are around then we would love to speak to you, answer any questions you might have, give you a demo of the finished product and get your valued feedback!
Thanks as always, Aaron and the PiJuice team
Battery safety data sheets and certification for shipping
over 8 years ago
– Tue, Nov 07, 2017 at 03:31:23 PM
Hi again,
Just a quick one to let you know that the battery safety testing and datasheets have now been generated. This is just a formality that needs to be done for a lot of the couriers (DHL etc) before shipping batteries around the world in bulk.
Not much else to report this week, but we will have more info coming soon on further reviews, production updates etc. and will update you as soon as we have anything further.
Thanks, Aaron and the Pi Supply team
5 Star Review in The MagPi!! And case update.

Hi all,
As you know from previous updates we have sent a number of units of PiJuice out to reviewers, and more reviews are starting to come in. Here, we are delighted to announce that we have got a......
We are pretty excited to have such a glowing review and hope this helps to build a bit of excitement for when they drop on your doorstep in the next few months!
You might also notice from the front cover of the same MagPi issue, and one of the inside pages, that we are running a competition in partnership with The MagPi to win a number of Flick HATs and a Maplin robot arm kit.
You can enter the competition here and if you want to see a video of the Flick HAT working with the robot arm you can check out this video:
CamdenBoss Case Update
Last but not least, we were playing with the PiJuice cases and noticed a few small issues:
no breakout possibility for the buttons / no way to access buttons with case on
LEDs not visible through case
the case had been designed for use with the PoE HAT we sell as an example, but actually would not work with HATs with different heights of header.
Needless to say, these issues will all be fixed in the final production versions
